"In July 2011, three months after the Tohoku tsunami and subsequent nuclear reactor destabilization, we published the first Hot Spot series on the Society for Cultural Anthropology’s website, “3.11 Politics in Disaster Japan: Fear and Anger, Possibility and Hope.” Ten years later, we asked the original contributors to reflect on the past decade, in terms of fear and anger, possibility and hope post-3.11."

Am 4. Juni um 15 Uhr findet im Rahmenprogramm des Filmfestivals Nippon Connection 2021 eine Online-Podiumsdiskussion zum Thema 10 Jahre nach Fukushima statt. Beteiligt an der Online-Veranstaltung sind Steffi Richter (Universität Leipzig), Sonja Ganseforth (Deutsches Institut für Japanforschung), Julia Gerster (Tohoku University / International Research Institute of Disaster Science) und Julius Weitzdörfer (FernUniversität Hagen).

Ankündigung: "Zehn Jahre nach dem verheerenden Tohoku-Erdbeben und der darauffolgenden Dreifachkatastrophe ist Japan scheinbar zur Normalität zurückgekehrt. Bis heute wird das Land jedoch von der Katastrophe geprägt. Die Online-Diskussionsrunde stellt unter anderem die Frage nach Recht und Gerechtigkeit für die Betroffenen, der Situation der Fischer*innen und des Meeres, und entwickelt dabei auch Bezüge zu aktuellen Ereignissen, wie den Olympischen Spielen und der Pandemie."
